Update global Style Guide website and train global affiliates.
Solution: 

One of the tenets of a UX department is to provide governance for a cohesive site experience. In earlier times, a company’s creative brand / design team provided such guidelines. Now, more and more, we see that task falling on the User Experience team.

At Thermo, we have a similar charter. Historically, the most recent member of the Life Tech UX team owns and updates the guide. Doing so, s/he becomes an expert in the company's design doctrine.

In 2014 when I joined Life Tech, I was tasked to update our Style Guide to the 2.0 version. At the same time, we were being ingested by Thermo Fisher Scientific - so we had the additional task of redefining our global digital styles. The team, as a whole, worked together to define those styles.
